Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
When will I receive my first bill(s)?
We take your meter readings at completion and close the utilities accounts from our end, which prompts the supplier to write to you directly. If you have not received any bills within 6-8 weeks, please get in touch so we can ensure everything is up to date.
Is it safe to go into my loft?
Your loft is not a living area and is not designed for storage. If you do need to go into the loft be careful to only step on the wooden beams. If access is essential, we recommend professional advice is sought first.
What are the little bumps in my plaster?
Nail pops are bumps or crescent shaped cracks in walls or ceilings where nails have worked themselves loose, literally ‘popping out’ from the surface during the drying out process. This is quite normal so there’s no need to worry, they can usually be put right during routine decoration but if you feel they are excessive, please get in touch.
Why is my hot water only reaching a certain temperature?
Building regulations stipulate all new-build homes across England and Wales are required to have devices fitted to baths to limit the temperature of the water to 48 degrees to prevent scalding.
My appliance isn’t working or has a fault – what do I do?
This will need to be raised with the manufacturer. Appliances manuals and warranty details are provided in your handover box, if proof of purchase is requested please provide your Customer Acceptance Certificate from completion day.
Why is my garage damp?
It is possible damp may affect some garages, this is perfectly normal and is not a construction defect. An external garage is constructed of single skin masonry, so will not be impervious to prolonged or wind drive rain. Garage doors are not sealed units and rain may be able to enter beneath. We only recommend that your garage is used to store items unaffected by wet conditions.
